Social Lunch Featuring ‘Living the Past Fast’ Book Launch

Past President of the HSRCA Richard Cardew and Seth Reinhardt have spent the past 5 years compiling a wonderful book chronicling the characters and cars of the Club over the 15 years Seth has been covering its events. The book is titled ‘Living the Past Fast’ and it will be launched at this event.

The book contains 470 photographs, 320 pages and thousands of words.
Those of us lucky enough to see advance copies were impressed with the fact that it is not so much a record of the cars of historic racing as the people of historic racing, sharing some of our story over this period in time.

Those of you familiar with Seth’s photography will know that he emphasises the human side of our passion, and the book features images of many of the members, competitors, family and friends who have attended our meetings since 2010.

On 19 August Richard will be speaking to how he and Seth approached the project, and I hope that many members will attend to support this endeavour of a very collectible publication.

Note that this social function will be at lunchtime, following an assessment of the popularity of the dinner functions. We will start the presentation at 12:00pm to be followed by lunch in the bistro from about 12:45pm. We look forward to seeing you there on Tuesday 19 August!
