For those interested in Australia’s rich motoring history, the Australian Motor Heritage Foundation will be welcoming visitors for tours of their premises during lunch on both Saturday and Sunday. Visit the former ARDC building next to the main grandstand.
Your media briefing and map document is available below, along with additional details. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Enter SMSP at Gate A, Ferrers Rd (Main entrance). Please have your ticket handy on your phone, or print it out, to show staff at the gate.
Parking will be on the Figure 8 (P2), which is through the main entrance of Sydney Motorsport Park and after the tunnel, then left past the Medical Centre.
Sign-on will be at race control. Here you will receive your wristband and if required, your vest. You will also have a brief meeting with a member of our team to go over and accept the regulations for the event.
You will need the wristband and vest, or your current Motorsport Australia ( CAMS) vest to access the track, pit lane and garages. SMSP vests must be returned and signed out at Race Control at the conclusion of the event.
RaceFuels have filled the tanks for us ahead of our Summer Festival meeting. They have permanent bowsers located uphill from race control, which will be operating throughout the weekend.
Three fuels will be available:
The bowsers at SMSP have also been updated with Paywave, so competitors can ‘tap and go’ when they get their fuel. To buy your fuel:
If any entrants require Elf Core 50 at the event, this will need to be ordered throughfuelorder@racefuels.com.au or by calling the office (03) 9706 5233.
Please note that Elf LMS has been discontinued from France and is now out of stock in Australia. Elf Core 50 is the direct replacement for LMS.
Update: 30/11/22 – Bump-in will no longer be available into the garages on Thursday night except for transporters already booked.
The skid-pan will be available for those providing their own accommodation, and any trailers may be left on the skid-pan overnight. Early access to the circuit will be available on Friday.
The ARDC is conducting a night event on Thursday which will occupy the garages – we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience if this conflicts with earlier advice.
Beware that marquees will be being erected on Thursday evening, initially on the skid-pan and then behind the garages.
The schedule for Friday Practice shows a drivers’ briefing at 7:45am, but there will be alternate arrangements if you cannot make the briefing. Practice will commence from 8.30 am and the programme has been sent today to all entrants paid to date. Entry for practice should be possible on Friday, it is being conducted for us by the ARDC.
A paddock map is at the above link. Please adhere to this map, particularly in taking up a position on the skid pan. Also, please assist by parking your tender vehicle and trailer in the designated parking areas (not the paddock.)
HSRCA volunteers will be on hand on Thursday evening to assist with paddock management and directions.
Entry passes and HSRCA sign-on will be available in the Hinxman Room from 10:00 Friday morning (practice day). Please bring the following:
We have allocated two entry passes to each competitor. Your HSRCA member’s card can act as an additional pass, plus one guest. Extra passes are available upon request. Please only take what you need.
This will also include tender vehicle passes. Please insert your race car number on the tender pass.
Private practice will be held on Friday the 2nd and hosted by the ARDC. It is now able to be entered online. Please visit the link to do so.
Discounts are available for both ARDC and HSRCA members. ARDC members can enter their ARDC member ID into the discount code section before purchase. The HSRCA code will be emailed to members, or you can email us at web@hsrca.com and we will provide it.
Sign on and payment can also be at the track on the day. The cost is $160 for ARDC and HSRCA members, $190 for non-members.
Friday practice typically commences at 9.00am. For those present on Friday, admin checking will be open from 11am.
If you are not arriving at the circuit until Saturday morning:
Drivers’ briefing will be at 8:15am in the Hinxman Room.
Due to the strong entries, and garage overflow, marquees have been arranged, at considerable expense to the Club, and some competitors will be allocated a marquee.
Join us for our final race meeting of the year, to be held at Sydney Motor Sport Park over the 3rd and 4th of December, with private practice on Friday the 2nd.
Enter via the Motorsport Australia members’ portal as usual:
The meeting will offer races for all of our usual fifth category vehicles as well as speed events for vehicles manufactured up to the 1990s and invited cars deemed compatible with those groups.
In addition, we hope to have groups for Formula 5000 and Sports Sedans, and look forward to the traditional Dawson Damer trophy race for M & O and the always entertaining Group S enduro race.
Private practice will be offered on Friday the 2nd of December, and will once again be run by the ARDC.
As you may well know, there are a limited number of garages and carports available at SMSP and they are always in high demand. In order to provide everyone with cover that requests it, we are providing additional marquee spots (with power).
When you enter via the members’ portal it will tell you how many garage and carport spots are remaining. If there are no garage or carport spots available when you enter, then please request (and pay for) a marquee spot and advise the race secretary (Noel Bryen) via the notes section in the portal or by sending an email to noelbryen@gmail.com that you would prefer a garage or carport and you will be added to the wait list.
We look forward to catching up with everyone and going racing after this unexpected mid-year break, to wrap up 2022’s historic motor sport season with an entertaining and well-supported summer meeting at Sydney Motorsport Park.
