Welcome home!
We’ve settled in to the working week after a wonderful weekend of historic racing at Wakefield Park, which means it’s about time to start thinking about something a little more fun! So let’s have a chat about the weekend and check out the photos.
Our 2015 Wakefield Park Spring Historics race meet was held at Wakefield Park over the 19th and 20th of September. For this event we chose to celebrate the older cars in our ranks with feature events for J, K, L and invited M cars, as well as the diverse and wonderful machines of Regularity and the similarly-diverse and wonderful women and men who drive them, with Regularity and combined J, K, L and Regularity feature events.
Both groups responded wonderfully with full-to-bursting fields of historic sports and racing cars. It truly was a delight to see all of you out on the track having fun and putting in some impressive performances.
As it was to see the full field of historic sports and racing cars of all types over the weekend! Each and every car was immaculately presented and beautifully driven, and we’d like to send a huge ‘THANK YOU!’ to everyone who got stuck in to racing over the weekend. Your support is greatly appreciated and your presence makes all of the hard work that goes into organising these events very worthwhile and rewarding.
We’d also like to congratulate everyone for a weekend well raced. There were very few incidents throughout the weekend and your quick, smooth and respectful driving contributed immensely to the smooth running of the event. Not to mention some extremely entertaining racing!
Off the track and into the pits and paddock and the atmosphere was no less enjoyable. The happy buzz of socialising around lovely old cars made the grounds of Wakefield Park a wonderful place to explore and it was great to catch up with friends old and new over the weekend. It was also particularly nice to see so many people looking after each other, putting on delicious banquet group lunches and very much getting into the spirit of things. Thank you!
As we always say, this relaxed and friendly atmosphere is one of historic motorsport’s greatest and most rewarding strengths. If you get a chance to come along to an event, make sure to spend some time wandering the pits and paddock, getting up close and personal with the cars and having a chat with their owners and drivers as well as fellow historic racing fans. You’re sure to learn an incredible amount, as well as make a few new friends.
Our most important and heartfelt thanks of all goes, as always, to the selfless, talented and generous people who volunteer their time and talents to organising, running and packing up these events while keeping us all safe and exceptionally well looked after. None of this would be possible without you, and we’re endlessly grateful for the enriching and exciting experiences that you give us through your hard work.
From everyone involved in the event, and the sport as a whole – THANK YOU!
With that said it’s time to grab a mug, glass or pint of your favourite beverage and settle in to enjoy the photos! Click through the following links.
