We are lucky as a club to be supported by a strong committee made up of hard working and passionate people. You may know some well, but others not as much. So, over the next couple of weeks we are going to go behind the scenes and spend some time getting to know the people keeping our club running smoothly in 2020.

Spectator tickets will be available at the gate on the weekend. Kids 12 and under get in free. Adult tickets are $25 for Saturday, $35 for Sunday and $50 for a weekend pass. Concession tickets are $20 on Saturday, $25 on Sunday and $40 for a weekend pass.
Bump-in and set up will be on Thursday evening. Due to another event, the paddock will not be available until 6.00pm, but the skid pan will be available earlier. If you are located on the skid pan you can move in and set up later afternoon.
Paddock Layout and Use
A paddock map will be made available shortly. Please adhere to this map, particularly in taking up a position on the skid pan. Also, please assist by parking your tender vehicle and trailer in the designated parking areas (not the paddock.)
HSRCA volunteers will be on hand on Thursday evening to assist with paddock management and directions.
Entry Passes and HSRCA sign-on will be available in the Hinxman Room from Friday morning (Practice Day).
We have allocated two entry passes to each competitor. Your HSRCA members’ card can act as an additional pass. Extra passes are available upon request. Please only take what you need.
This will also include tender vehicle passes. Please insert your race car number on the tender pass.
Competitor Race Meeting Sign On
This will be conducted by the Race Secretary in the Hinxman Room, from Friday morning.
Friday practice will be available as usual and be conducted by the ARDC/Sydney Motorsport Park.
Sign on and payment is at the track on the day. Online entry is available at the SMSP website. Please click this link to sign up for private practice online on the SMSP website. The cost is $160 for ARDC and HSRCA members, $190 for non-members.
Friday practice typically commences at 9.00am. For those present on Friday, admin checking will be open from 11am.
Saturday Morning Entry
If you are not arriving at the circuit until Saturday morning:
- Entry passes should be available at the gate. Enter the circuit and set up your car at your allocated space
- Complete your competitor sign-on for the event with the Race Secretary
Garages and Carports
Competitors, if you requested a garage or carport this may be of interest to you.
Entries for the event are very strong! About two weeks before entries closed on the 15th of November, most of the garages were taken. In the week leading up to entries closing, all of the garages and most of the carports were taken.
There are numerous competitor requests to share with or next to others, as well as many other requests including nominating specific garages or carports, and requests to share with someone who has not entered.
When entries are so strong, there is quite limited flexibility to move competitors around in order to meet these requests. However, the Race Committee has met as many of these requests as possible.
Due to the strong entries, and garage overflow, marquees have been arranged, at considerable expense to the Club, and some competitors will be allocated a marquee.
RaceFuels have filled the tanks for us ahead of our Summer Festival meeting. The bowsers uphill from race control will be operating throughout the weekend.

You are most cordially invited to join us at the 2020 HSRCA Summer Festival at Sydney Motorsport Park
We’re pleased to announce that entry to the 2020 HSRCA Summer Festival, to be held over the weekend of November 27 to 29 at Sydney Motorsport Park, is now open.
As usual, please enter via the Motorsport Australia Members’ Portal:
All drivers are welcome to the Summer Festival, which will offer races for all of our usual fifth category vehicles as well as speed events for vehicles manufactured up to the 1990s and invited cars deemed compatible with those groups. As well as these, Summer staples like the Dawson-Damer trophy race, Group S Enduro Relay and perpetual trophies will return, as will the BMC Challenge, which is becoming an enjoyable regular at our meetings.
Private practice will be offered on Friday the 27th of November and will be hosted by the circuit.
Having spent this year’s winter break in hibernation, the Summer Festival will be the first time we’ve run at the iconic Sydney circuit since our 2019 summer meeting. We’re looking forward to having a little more space to work with, and giving the the big cars some room to stretch their legs.
The Summer Festival will comply with all NSW Government COVID-19 regulations, as well as Sydney Motorsport Park’s COVID-19 procedures. We will, as always, keep a close eye on the situation and any and all rules, regulations and restrictions to come out of it. To ensure a safe and enjoyable meeting for all, we will make any necessary adjustments in the lead-up to the event.
We appreciate that the Summer Festival will follow hot on the heels of this weekend’s Spring Festival, giving us a somewhat compressed schedule for entries. That said, we hope that you will enjoy the action-packed conclusion to the 2020 historic motor sport season!
As always, your support of the club, its meetings and the community is greatly appreciated.
Yours in motor sport,
The HSRCA Race Committee.
Brian Caldersmith recently got in touch to share his latest portrait, featuring him and his lovely Elite, and shared a few words on their time together. Enjoying both efforts, I asked if he would be interested in expanding on the story for something to share here. A few days later, I received the wonderful story you see below, which chronicles a life well lived with his Lotus Elite.
Read on and enjoy, with huge thanks to Brian Caldersmith.
