HSRCA Displays
As a club, we take our role as Guardians of Historic Racing rather seriously, and we wouldn’t be very good Guardians of Historic Racing if we didn’t share our love and knowledge of the sport and its history with the world. So, one of the most important roles we play involves promoting historic motorsport in the wider world and finding like-minded souls with whom to share our passion.
So, in addition to the historic race meetings and social meetings we hold each year, we hold several HSRCA displays, either as part of existing events or in support of our own activities as a club. There are three major HSRCA displays each year, as well as several additional displays that change year to year.
CARnivale
Australia Day, January 26th, Parramatta Park
Held on Australia Day each year, CARnivale sees a massive collection of motor cars head to Parramatta Park to hold an automotive display as part of Parramatta’s broader Australia Day celebrations.
Featuring the car display as well as a barbecue festival, music and more, this is a relaxed event with a festival atmosphere. It’s a lot of fun to take part in, mostly because our HSRCA display tends to draw a great crowd and we get to spend the day meeting new people and chatting about cars, life and everything.
The Council of Motor Clubs’ Shannons Sydney Classic
August, Sydney Motorsport Park
The CMC’s Shannons Sydney Classic is the city’s biggest celebration of motoring. It’s a a must-see for anyone who appreciates an automobile, and the HSRCA is honoured to feature prominently at the event.
The Shannons Sydney Classic attracts every kind of automobile imaginable, with close to 2000 vehicles taking part in the display each year. As well as the display, clubs take part in an on-track parade and the event features double-decker bus rides around the circuit, trade displays, live music and more.
The All British Day, Sydney
September, The Kings School in North Parramatta
Held on the magnificent grounds of The Kings School each year, the All British Day Sydney is a celebration of Britain’s contribution to motoring.
The event is a great opportunity to immerse yourself in the breadth and depth of Britain’s automotive ingenuity. British marques have found success in all forms of motorsport at all levels, and we hold our display to celebrate that history as well as remind people that it’s still alive and racing in historic motorsport.
