When the Formula One is run in Melbourne each year, it is as a celebration of motorsport, with a great appreciation and respect for its history and the elements that make it great. As a result there is plenty to see and do for fans of historic racing, classic sports and racing cars and everything that goes along with the combination thereof.
This year’s event took place over the 24th to 27th of March, a week after the 2011 Phillip Island Classic, and featured both Historic Demonstrations and Formula 5000 events, to which HSRCA members contributed wonderfully. Both groups of cars had easily accessible pit & paddock display areas, which were a hit with attendees and featured the fun and friendly atmosphere that is such a joyous part of historic motorsport.
