You are most cordially invited to join us at the 2018 HSRCA Autmn Festival at Wakefield Park
Our first historic race meeting of 2018, the Autumn Festival at Wakefield Park, will be held over the 7th and 8th of April and we would like to extend a most cordial invitation for you to join us.
Entry is now open via the CAMS Members’ Portal, which you can find on the CAMS homepage:
Looking bigger and better than last year, the Autumn Festival will cater for all historic 5th category cars, from Groups J, K & L to the more modern Q & R cars. Over the course of a full weekend’s motorsport, we will be commemorating the 60th anniversary of Formula Junior, celebrating the career of the legendary Jim Clark, who lost his life on the 7th of April in 1968, and, for the first time at an HSRCA meeting, welcoming the BMW E30 Racing group. The meeting will be a round of the championships for Formula Junior (double points), Formula Ford, Formula Vee, Group S and Group N.
Regularity and super sprint events will also be featured, with the latter providing an opportunity for cars manufactured as late as the 1990s to be involved. The super sprints are rapidly increasing in popularity and allow for a wide variety of cars to participate, so we’re very pleased to see them doing well.
Private practice will be available on Friday exclusively for competitors attending the meeting. Please pre-book your practice session via the Wakefield Park website:
www.wakefieldpark.com.au/entry-forms/entry-form-hsrca-private-practice-6-april-2018-2-2-2-2-2-2/
This will help speed up the documentation process. Entrants will have access to garages and carports from 4:30PM on the Thursday afternoon.
The Autumn Festival will offer a full schedule of events and categories may be combined to form grids of sufficient size. The program will be designed to provide plentiful track time, with the number of races offered to each group reflecting category preferences.
Wakefield Park has been an opportunity for a weekend away with friends who enjoy motorsport and this year we will be endeavouring to retain that character and also provide more supporting activity. Such activities will include car club displays, stalls and activities for children as well as the usual social event on Saturday evening in thanks to officials.
A bus may be provided for travel between the circuit and Goulburn over the weekend to allow drivers, their crews and their companions convenient travel between these locales. It will be offered on Saturday evening to allow easy attendance of the officials’ get together for those who need to move between the circuit and town.
The race committee is also investigating arranging a bus from Sydney to Goulburn leaving either Friday or Saturday and returning on Sunday for those who might like to attend but find it difficult to get there. Please get in touch and let us know if this would be interesting to you, further details will be advised in the very near future.
It is essential to note that noise limits are strictly enforced by Wakefield Park management. There is increasing fuss from locals on this issue, so come prepared to muffle your vehicles. Wakefield Park management will do what they can to help but can only give a car one chance to fix it.
Please contact us if you expect to arrive after hours or if you have motorised accommodation with self-contained ablution and wish to enquire about camping.
Entries are scheduled to open on the 3rd of February 2018 and close on the 24th of March 2018. Please enter via CAMS event entry. If that is difficult for you, please get in touch and we will provide a traditional entry form.
Wishing you all the best for 2018!
