The Spring Festival will build on the successful Autumn Festival and offer a magic spring weekend of motorsport for all of our traditional categories. We will once again offer super sprint events to those with compatible historic and classic cars, and look forward to continuing our efforts to make historic motorsport a more inclusive, active and enjoyable pursuit.
Entry numbers permitting, the meeting will include:
- Races for 5th Category Groups JKLM, OPQR, N, S, and Formulas Ford, Junior and Vee
- Regularity trials and super sprints for historic and invited classic cars
- Trophy events for Groups JKL, Formula Junior and Regularity
Trophies to be decided over the weekend will include the perpetual trophies for groups JKL (subject to entry numbers), the new Roger Ealand Trophy for Formula Junior and trophies for the Regularity team event, which will be awarded to the winning and runner up teams.
The number of events per category will be varied to suit the preferences of category members while at the same time providing similar track time for all grids. Contact your category manager if you have suggestions to make.
The super sprint is open to cars built before 1998 and will include the large and fast cars. Cars built within a few years of that date will be considered in special cases.
We have secured exclusive use of the Wakefield Park circuit for private practice on Friday the 1st of September. This means that garages and carports allocated for the weekend will also be available from Friday. Private practice itself will be run by Wakefield Park and payment should be made directly to them.
We have retained the increased $50 members’ discount for entry to race meetings and intend to for the foreseeable future. Note that, in an effort to encourage sharing, the entry fee for same driver, second entry and same car, second driver entries will be the same. Each driver is entitled to the discount once only.
Feedback from the Autumn Festival demonstrated some issues in redeeming the $50 members’ discount when entering through CAMS Event Entry. Currently, the system works best if the HSRCA is registered with CAMS Event Entry as the entrants’ principal or first club and the membership expiry date is accurate. The discount does not apply after the closing date for entries.
Should the system not automatically deduct the membership discount when you place your entry, please manually deduct the $50 when making your payment via Paypal, electronic transfer or cheque and inform the club via email to treasurer@hsrca.com. Please include your membership number in this email.
If you’re not a member and would like to become one, please see the attached documentation. The members’ discount offers a tremendous value, especially if you intend on entering more than one event in a year. It will apply to new member applications received by the 1st of August. Applications will need to be received and processed before new applicants receive the benefit for this event.
For those reluctant or unable to use CAMS Event Entry please contact the club on members@hsrca.org.au or (02) 9948 4743 and request a traditional entry form.
Your involvement in HSRCA events and the historic racing community at large is greatly appreciated. We have been encouraged by the feedback from drivers at our recent meetings, and are keen to provide a very enjoyable weekend. Thank you for making this such a rewarding, exciting and welcoming pursuit.
Please pass this invitation on to friends and family and encourage them to get involved – the more friends we have to race and talk cars with, the better!
We look forward to taking to the track with you this September.
With every good wish for a memorable weekend of classic motorsport,
The HSRCA Race Committee
