GEAR to Celebrate 85th Anniversary of First Australian GP

Our friends at the Golden Era Auto Racing Club are preparing to celebrate the first ever Australian Grand Prix for motor cars with an event at Wakefield Park on the 13th, 14th and 15th of January, 2012.

The event will begin on the 13th of January with a display of vintage cars and bikes, as well as period films and all ’round good times at Belmore Park in Goulburn. It will then head to Wakefield Park on the 14th and 15th for circuit events and displays.

Coming Event: 13th, 14th and 15th January 2012

Golden Era Auto Racing Club Inc. celebrates the 85th anniversary of the first Australian Grand Prix for motor cars, which was held at Goulburn Showground on 15th January 1927.

On Friday 13th January there will be a display adjacent to Belmore Park Goulburn of vintage racing cars, sports cars, vintage cars and motorcycles. In the evening there is an open air theatre in Belmore Park showing film from the era. There are events at Wakefield Park on Saturday and Sunday.

Anyone wishing to put their cars in our display or enter events at Wakefield Park, or if you would like a weekend in beautiful Goulburn to enjoy the celebrations you would be most welcome. Please notify us of your intention to attend so as more details can be given and entry forms for the Wakefield Park events can be sent.
