An Opportunity to Make Your Historic Racer Famous

Historic Racing

We have been contacted by a researcher working for Great Southern Productions, who is currently producing the second series of Coast Australia and is looking for someone with an open-wheeler racing car from the 1920s or 30s which was raced on the beach at the Gerringong speedway.

If anyone has such a car, or knows someone who does, please contact Johanna on johanna.gibson@greatsouthern.tv or phone 02-8324 8416 or 0424 851 880, or send me an email and I’ll put you in touch.

Coast Australia, is an eight part documentary series that explores our spectacular coastline: the history, the people, the archaeology, the geography and the marine life, investigating interesting and little known facts along the way. It is presented by Scottish archaeologist Neil Oliver and a team of local co-hosts who are experts in their fields.

The new season will feature a story on Seven Mile beach and the historic car races that took place there from the 1920s-1950s. Johanna is looking for an open wheeler racing car from the 1920s/30s period that used to be raced on the beach down there (Gerringong speedway).
