What can I say? An absolutely beautiful winter’s day, a great roll up of members and partners, a terrific drive through picturesque areas south of Sydney, a delicious lunch and a cold beer!
Most of us met at Waterfall and drove through the Royal National Park, stopping for photos at Stanwell Tops. We then headed over the fabulous Sea Cliff Bridge, through to Wollongong and up the Macquarie Pass to the famous Robertson Pie Shop to meet the Southern Highlands contingent and have some light refreshments.
Our final lunch destination was the Scottish Arms Hotel in East Bowral, and everyone arrived safely and happily thanks to Barry Thew’s clear, concise and enjoyable instructions.
We had a great mix of marques along for the drive including Ferrari, Porsche, Lotus, MG, Cooper S, Datsun, Mercedes. All the cars looked great and performed well and so did their drivers and co-drivers.
From all accounts everyone enjoyed the day. We will look at organising the next run for September/October but must bear in mind that there are a lot of car related activities in Spring.
