Alan Hamilton has kindly offered to speak at our upcoming social night on Wednesday the 16th of September, which will also feature the launch of Tony Loxley’s new book Tasman Cup 1964 – 1975.
With an impressive motorsport history under his belt, Alan’s talk should include something of interest for everyone. Alan has won the Australian hillclimb racing title on four occasions, raced McLarens and Lola derivatives and raced touring cars including claiming second place at Bathurst in 1977 with Colin Bond in one of Allan Moffat’s Falcons.
For Porsche enthusiasts he’s raced plenty of those as well and provided top cars for Alan Jones and Colin Bond, along with F5000 and Atlantic cars for long time driver Alfredo Constanzo. And Alfie and Alan are still at it with McLarens in historic races!
The evening will also feature the launch of Tony Loxley’s new book Tasman Cup 1964 – 1975. Some of those who participated in that wonderful decade are planning on attending the event and Tony will have copies of both his new book and his older F5000 Thunder available for purchase on the night.
The evening will commence at 7:30PM, but turn up early for dinner and a drink as the pre-meeting catch-up is a wonderful social occasion that’s not to be missed!
This meeting will be held at the Ryde Eastwood Leagues Club at 117 Rydedale Road, West Ryde. Parking is available under the club.
See you there!
