The HSRCA will be taking a contingent of significant historic motor racing machines to CARnivale this Australia Day, the 26th of January, to share some of Parramatta Park’s motorsport history with the wider world.
The CARnivale team organised a media day for this past Tuesday, the 10th of January, to promote the event and we went along to help. Daniel Bando has kindly put together a few words and photos from the day.
Thanks to Dan Bando
A small group assembled at Old Government House on Tuesday for the CARnivale media day. Channels 7 and 9, 2GB, Telegraph and local papers were in attendance. We were there to help promote Australia Day celebrations that will be held in Parramatta Park.
For those that don’t know (I was certainly not around at the time) Parramatta Park was also used as a race circuit. There is hope that a plaque or monument will be erected to recognise this event as well, at some point in the future.
The HSRCA is planning to have as many ex-Parramatta race cars in attendance as possible for our display at CARnivale this 26th January. We have a small number assembled, but if you have a car that raced at Parramatta (or something very similar) and would like to join our display, please contact Daniel Bando as soon as possible.
Thank you to our band of enthusiasts who helped on the day. They were:
