Friday practice

Friday practice is for HSRCA entrants only. Practice will run from 9am to 4pm. The cost, payable to Wakefield Park Raceway, is $150.

Wakefield Park will run the day, but the HSRCA has underwritten the cost so that garages and carports are available for the whole weekend. Book and pay Wakefield Park, or pay on them on the day – the cost is the same.

We will provide Wakefield Park with the entry list and suggested grids. They hope to offer 5 runs if the number of grids is limited to 6.

Access to the circuit

Access to the site on Thursday will be available between 4 and 6pm. On Friday night it will be available until 10pm. A security person will be there to open up. If you anticipate arriving later than 10pm, please let me (Richard Cardew) know.

On Saturday and Sunday mornings, the gate will be open from 7am. Competitor passes will not be not needed before 8am. After 8am entry will be by competitor pass or spectator ticket (which can be purchased at the gate). Your HSRCA member’s card will allow one entry for a member along with an additional entry for a partner or guest.

Additional passes may be collected on site from Friday in the Competitor and Photographers Event Registration building, and competitors are entitled to several free passes. Please take only the number needed, up to a maximum of four. We are now relying on spectator income to help cover costs so please be reasonable. Entry for adults is $20, or concession $15 and children under 16 are free

Noise and implications for program schedule

Public concern about noise, and for that matter government interest, isn’t going away. Race engines should not be started before 8am. Please be considerate and do not fire up too early. Allow common sense to prevail.

The drivers briefing is scheduled for 8.15 as usual. On Saturday we will run the meeting to about 5.15 and on Sunday racing will start at 9.15 and probably finish about 3.30. The very commendable behaviour of drivers at recent meetings has contributed to finishes ahead of time. Thanks guys.

Please note that as already advised, the circuit has an accurate noise meter that photographs the offending car and sends an email to the circuit office. Come prepared to deal with a car that trips the meter if you think that is likely.

Grids

The entries fall easily into 8 grids as follows: Formula Ford Formula Vee, KLM and Formula Junior, Groups OQR, Group N, Group S and two regularity groups, one of which will take the form of a super sprint. See the proposed program attached and on the website.

Note: the number of events varies between groups, but the track time at speed should be equivalent for all.

Garage

Garage and carport allocations are available below, as well as on the ‘Events & Entry Forms’ page on the web. Any issues please contact André Breit.

Fuel

Goulburn airport has been advised of our meeting and Avgas can be purchased there. Other fuel can be supplied by Wakefield Park. There is a 40 litre limit to storage in garages and car ports also, again an external requirement.

Social function

The usual social function will be held in the canteen from about 5.30. Please join us. It is an opportunity to say thanks to the volunteers and tell stories.

Request

We would like to offer the opportunity for children to have their photograph taken in a race car. If you would like to volunteer your car for that purpose let us know. We can arrange a roster.

Only parents should assist the child entering and leaving the car, unless you have a working with children card.
