Looking Forward to the HSRCA Spring Festival at Wakefield Park

Entries are now open for the HSRCA’s 2017 Spring Festival at Wakefield Park, to be held over the 2nd & 3rd of September, with private practice offered on the 1st. You are most cordially invited!

Click this link to enter the event via the CAMS Members’ Portal, and please share this invitation with friends and family.

We hope to find you well, and hope that you are enjoying Sydney’s currently spectacular winter driving weather!

Preparations for the upcoming Spring Festival of historic motorsport at Wakefield Park are progressing smoothly. We still have just under a month and a half to go before the official close of entry date on the 18th of August, and we are pleased to see entries flowing in and fields developing nicely.

Your early entry helps us to judge the fields, plan the programme, sort out the garages and manage all of the nitty gritty that does into preparing a race meeting, so thank you.

We understand (through much first-hand experience) that historic sports, race and touring cars can be cantankerous beasts, and that occasionally life can get in the way of motorsport. So, in the event that you do place an entry that you’re unable to take advantage of, you can be confident in our efforts to refund you.

Remember that we offer a $50 discounted entry to race meetings for HSRCA members and that, in an effort to encourage sharing, the entry fee for same driver, second entry and same car, second driver entries will be the same. Each driver is entitled to the discount once only.

If you have trouble convincing Cams Event Entry to apply the discount, please manually deduct the $50 when you pay for your entry and let us know via an email to treasurer@hsrca.com, including a note of your membership number.

The Spring Festival is being run as a three-day event, with private practice to be held on Friday the 1st of September and run by Wakefield Park, please contact them directly to register. Garages and carports allocated for the weekend will be available from Friday.

For those reluctant or unable to use CAMS Event Entry please contact the club on members@hsrca.org.au or (02) 9948 4743 and request a traditional entry form.

Looking at the early fields we should see some great motorsport at the Spring Festival.

The Group S field in particular is building well and should put on some exciting races as they head into the back end of their 2017 season. Similarly, Group N is looking good for round 5 of their season, and Regularity should see a strong entry and an interesting field.

We’re also happy to see a good start to Formula Ford entries and OPQR cars – in particular a strong set of Group R drivers looking to stretch their legs at Wakefield Park.

Our efforts to make historic motorsport as inclusive, active and enjoyable as possible continue, and we are looking forward to the return of the super sprint category, which is open to cars built before 1998.

The weekend will see trophies decided for both winners and runners up of the Regularity team event as well as the new Roger Ealand Trophy for Formula Junior and a trophy for groups JKL if entries are there to support it.

If you’d like to join us as a spectator, remember that HSRCA membership includes entry to our race meetings and race meeting entry includes guest passes to the event.

If you are not a member and are not entering, tickets will be available at the gate each day. Kids under 16 get in free, adult tickets are $20 for a day or $30 for a weekend pass and concession tickets are $15 or $25 for the weekend.

As always, we deeply appreciate your support of the HSRCA, its events and the historic community at large. We will continue to invest every effort into providing a fun, festive and safe Spring Festival.

With every good wish for a memorable weekend of classic motorsport,
The HSRCA Race Committee
