Long-time HSRCA member Jeff Brown has built a very special Goggomobil Dart, collaborating with artist Robert Clinch to turn the car into a work of art. Along the way, they made a feature-length documentary about the process with Karl von Moller, and that documentary is set to premiere in Sydney in September.
The documentary, ‘D’Art’, will premiere in Sydney on the 22nd of September at 6:30PM in the Ritz Cinema in Randwick. The screening will be followed by a question and answer session with Jeff, Robert and director Karl.
It should be a lot of fun, and the support of the club would be very much appreciated by the crew. For the full details from Jeff, read on.
Do you remember the Yellow Pages TV advert with the Goggomobil?
Painter Robert Clinch and I had an idea that if I bought a Goggomobil Dart, he would paint his signature paper darts on the car, to create, an Objet D’Art.
D’Art was unveiled in 2017 and has since been on tour of regional galleries around Oz.
We have made a feature length documentary about creating D’Art – have a look at this 3 minute trailer https://vimeo.com/345842556
The doco will premiere in Sydney on Sunday 22nd Sept at 6:30pm at the Ritz Cinema, 45 St Pauls Street, Randwick. Immediately after the showing there will be a Q&A involving Robert, the videographer and me. The car will be on show too.
I would love to see you at the premiere.
Invite lots of friends – please forward this email to anybody who might be interested. Ticket discounts are available for group bookings – contact the cinema on 8324 2500.
Should be fun.
If you can’t make it to the premiere, you’ll still have an opportunity to see it, as there will be a short public run afterwards.
