Join us on Wednesday the 28th of April from 11.00am for a private guided tour of the Museums Discovery Centre, where the Repco-Brabham BT-19 piloted to victory in the 1966 Formula 1 World Drivers’ Championship by Jack Brabham is on display.
With immense thanks to Repco, the HSRCA has arranged for the Repco-Brabham BT-19 to be sent to Sydney for display at our Sydney Classic race meeting at Sydney Motorsport Park over the 12th and 13th of June, 2021. This will join a number of other Formula 1, Tasman and V8 Brabhams expected for the event.
We have also arranged for the car to be displayed for the next two months at the Museums Discovery Centre at Showground Road, Castle Hill. The Museums Discovery Centre is open to the Public every weekend with free admission and is a great place to take the kids, as they have many planes, boats and other vehicles that we would all recognise.
The museum has kindly offered HSRCA members a private guided tour on Wednesday 28 April from 11.00am. Their volunteers will take us around the museum proper as well as the backroom storage and explain everything. We can then adjourn for a social lunch at a nearby tavern.
Numbers are limited to 30 for our tour, so please respond to our HSRCA office on members@hsrca.com if you wish to attend. We will then send access details as the Museum at Castle Hill is a secure location.
We would like to extend our appreciation to Repco for their willingness to contribute to this celebration of Ron Tauranac and assistance in making it all happen, as well as Powerhouse and the Museums Discovery Centre for displaying the car. The museum is publicising the BT-19 on their website and it is now the prime exhibit. The headline image to this story shows the car with our poster explaining the Ron Tauranac connection and our event in June.
