The first HSRCA social evening of 2017 will be held on the 29th of March at the Denistone Sports Club and feature the brilliant motorsport engineer Dave Mawer.
Dave will regale us with many ‘war’ stories from his considerable involvement in motorsport both at the track and in the workshop.
From his early days an an apprentice tool-maker with Hoover, Dave moved through the motorsport ranks. He assisted a veritable who’s who of racing and built many successful race cars along the way.
His efforts were recognised by CAMS in 2015 with the Phil Irving Award for an outstanding contribution to engineering excellence in motorsport at an Australian and international level. Previous winners of the award include HSRCA patron Ron Tauranac, as well as Ron Harrop, Ivan Tighe, Peter Holinger and more. Heady company indeed.
It’s going to be an entertaining evening at the usual venue, Denistone Sports Club at 59 Chatham Road Wester Ryde. The evening will kick off at 7:30PM, but why not arrive earlier for a drink and a bite from the bistro?
