Our upcoming 16th of September social night featuring guest speaker Alan Hamilton will now be held at the Ryde Eastwood Leagues Club.
The evening will now also include the launch of Tony Loxley’s new book Tasman Cup 1964 – 1975. Some of those who participated in that wonderful decade are planning on attending the event and Tony will have copies of both his new book and his older F5000 Thunder available for purchase on the night.
With an impressive motorsport history under his belt, Alan Hamilton’s talk should include something of interest for everyone. Alan has won the Australian hillclimb racing title on four occasions, raced McLarens and Lola derivatives and raced touring cars including claiming second place at Bathurst in 1977 with Colin Bond in one of Allan Moffat’s Falcons.
For Porsche enthusiasts he’s raced plenty of those as well and provided top cars for Alan Jones and Colin Bond, along with F5000 and Atlantic cars for long time driver Alfredo Constanzo. And Alfie and Alan are still at it with McLarens in historic races!
Due to the increase in expected attendance the meeting will now be held in the Rydedale Room at the Ryde Eastwood Leagues Club at 117 Rydedale Road, West Ride. This new location is very close to the West Ryde train station and just minutes from our usual venue. Parking is available under the club.
The evening will kick off at 7:30pm, but if you would like to arrive earlier for a meal we are sure that you’ll find a few familiar faces to share it with!
