You are most cordially invited to join us at Wakefield Park this 8th & 9th of April, 2017, for our first historic race meeting of the year.
Entry to the event is now open through CAMS Motor Event Entry, which is now accessed through the CAMS Members’ Portal. Click this handy link to enter via the CAMS homepage.
The HSRCA Autumn Historic meeting at Wakefield Park has been designed to provide a relaxed and inclusive weekend of historic motorsport shared with good friends. Our traditional historic categories are most welcome and will, as always, be the feature of this meeting.
Entry numbers permitting, the meeting will include:
- Races and regularity trials for all of the usual 5th category historic classes featuring race, sports and touring cars from the ‘30s to the ‘80s
- Invited classes for a super sprint and regularity trial
- An increased members’ discount of $50
The program is being designed for a maximum of 9 grids, more likely 8, so that track time is generous.
The number of events per category will be varied to suit the preferences of category members and obtain similar track time for all grids. Contact your category manager if you have suggestions to make.
We have secured Wakefield Park for Friday the 7th of April so that we can offer private practice exclusively for HSRCA entrants. This means that we’re also able to make garages and carports allocated for the weekend available from Friday. The private practice itself will be run by Wakefield Park and payment should be made to them.
To encourage participation and the friendly, buzzing atmosphere that is such an important aspect of HSRCA events, we have been in contact with other motorsport groups across New South Wales. We are working to introduce new people to our wonderful community and for the April race meeting we plan on offering a super sprint and regularity trial for invited classes of these groups.
These groups will include cars constructed after 1987 and before 1998. Such cars will, however, need to be representative of those that raced in that period and compatible with other entrants. Consequently, the HSRCA reserves the right to accept or reject entries for these categories based on these and other risk mitigation criteria. Please contact David Ellis for guidance.
In a further effort to give back to our membership and provide a more inclusive racing community, we have also increased the members’ discount for entry to race meetings to $50. This makes the HSRCA membership a great value, especially if you plan on competing in more than one race meeting each year.
If you’re not a member and would like to become one, please see the attached documentation. The increased member discount will apply to new member applications received by the 3rd of March 2017. Applications will need to be received and processed before new applicants enter this event.
For those reluctant or unable to use CAMS Event Entry please contact the club on members@hsrca.org.au or 9988 4743 and request a traditional entry form.
We greatly appreciate your involvement in both our events and the historic racing community at large. Your support is vital to the health of the sport, and is what makes it such an exciting and rewarding pursuit. We hope that you join us once more for a great weekend of motorsport!
Please pass this invitation on to friends and family and encourage them to get involved – the more friends we have to race and talk cars with, the better!
We look forward to catching up with everyone this April 8th and 9th.
With every good wish for a memorable weekend of classic motorsport,
The HSRCA Race Committee
